ALAYA
Introduction
With the rise of e-commerce, Alaya's founders sought assistance to create a user-friendly and engaging websites to attract and retain retail customers. In this UX redesign project, I explored the design for both desktop and mobile web users.
Mobile Design
The mobile web experience has a simplified design with easy-to-access navigation from the homepage through checkout. The landing page showcases popular products, sales, and promotions in a scrollable format. The checkout process was optimized for smaller screens with improved navigation. Accessibility to the shopping cart at any point in the process and the ability to make changes to their order is an important aspect of the online shopping flow with multiple payment and shipping options to cater to user preferences.
Desktop
Although mobile commerce has grown in popularity, studies show that millennials prefer a desktop experience for purchases. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the desktop design is user-friendly and engaging for this demographic in order to attract and retain customers.
Conclusion
In the first quarter, 32% of total sales were made online with 70% of acquisitions through organic marketing, and with a product profit of 58% compared to wholesale from their own production. Designing an e-commerce website for both desktop and mobile users requires careful consideration of user behaviors and needs. A user-friendly and engaging design can help attract and retain customers, while a streamlined checkout process can improve conversion rates. By taking these factors into account, businesses can create a successful e-commerce website that meets the users' needs.
